Sandy Cooper
President

Sandy Cooper has had a lifelong interest in religion and spirituality and was delighted to discover the deep interface between “Christianess” and the psychology of Carl Gustav Jung. Sandy also is profoundly impacted by poetry. She has an M. A. in English literature from Washington University in St. Louis. After teaching for eight years at the secondary and community college level, Sandy became a full-time homemaker with two children.  Later, she earned a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies at Aquinas Institute of Theology. Sandy served as a chaplain until she became very involved with the C. G. Jung Society of St. Louis. She describes the Society’s activities and community as life giving to her.  She has enjoyed holding study groups and programs in her home.

Francesca Ferrentelli
Vice President

Francesca “Cheska” Ferrentelli, PhD, holds an MA, Professional Psychology, Lindenwood University, Ph.D., Mythological Studies, Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a certified EMDR Clinician, and a certified EMDR Consultant. Cheska specializes in EMDR Therapy, trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, addictions, and adult children of alcoholics. She has been in private practice since 1993, and her approach is informed by Jungian Depth Psychology and psychodynamics. She is the author of The Zebra and the Black Pony and Izzy and the Chicken, children’s book that use a technique called Transformational Storytelling. She has served on the board of the Jung Society since 2007 in various capacities and is currently the Vice President. She has presented for the society many times and has led several study groups.

Grady Vaughan
Treasurer

Grady Vaughan holds a BS in Engineering from N. C. State University. After spending over 40 years as a professional engineer, he has devoted his retirement years to volunteering for non-profit organizations that align with his interests. He has been involved with The C. G. Jung Society of St. Louis for about 25 years, having served as treasurer since 2012. He also serves as treasurer of The C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago. An avid woodworker, Grady has written a monthly newsletter for the St. Louis Woodworkers Guild since 2017 and occasionally lends a hand to the Weavers’ Guild of St. Louis. He lives in St. Louis with his wife June and Geordie the cat.

Sheila Vaughn
Secretary

Sheila Vaughn was first introduced to the Jung Society of St. Louis after moving here from New York City where she was a singer/songwriter.  She has benefited tremendously from personal psychotherapy, her participation in book discussions and presentations all offered through the society.  Having recently retired from a second career in adult education she is excited about expanding the outreach of the society so others may benefit from its offerings as she has.

Simon Rosen
Board Member

Simon Rosen, MSW, LCSW is a graduate of Washington University’s G.W. Brown School of Social Work with a Specialization in Family Therapy. He has experience providing individual, family and group therapy in a variety of settings since 1990. He has extensive training in Gestalt Therapy, Play Therapy and is oriented by Jungian Psychology. He has served on the Board of Directors of the C.G. Jung Society of St. Louis since 2017.

Fradi Spilberg
Board Member

Fradi Spilberg holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St Louis University. She has more than 35 years experience in private practice and consulting. Her therapeutic approach is centered on meditation and compassion. She is also involved in artistic endeavors such as drawing & painting.

Nancy Straatmann
Board Member

Nancy Straatmann, LPC is a Jungian-influenced counselor in private practice. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her approach helps clients attend to their inner life through integration of mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Nancy is a certified Meditation Instructor and Mindfulness Coach, and a certified HeartMath Clinician. She has served on the Board of Directors of the C.G. Jung Society of St. Louis since 2019.

Peter Vanarsdale

Denny Vandermause
Board Member

Denny Vandermause has served on the Board of Directors of the St. Louis C. G. Jung Society since 2018. A long-time scholar of Jungian psychology, he recently completed a four-year training program through the Heartland Association of Jungian Analysts (HAJA). He is a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic Seminary, Oneida, Wisconsin and received a BA in Sociology and a MSSW from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has worked in public and private agencies as a clinical social worker for over forty years, earning the distinction of Diplomat in Clinical Social Work from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). His work with adolescents and families is comprehensive and noteworthy.

Rick Vaughn

Rick has been in an intensive study of Jungian thought since 2011 including two years of analysis with a Jungian diplomate analyst.   He has been a video producer of more than 40 Jungian presentations and is a Jung Society of St. Louis Board member.  He is also a teacher of music video for Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL.
